Georgia Rodger Spiral Pulse Sequence

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners are large medical scanning machines which use electromagnets and radio frequency signals to create pictures of the body.  The machine also produces distinctive and unusual sounds as the powerful magnets rotate around the patient.

‘Spiral Pulse Sequence’ takes the structure, form and movement of the MRI in the spatial composition of the performances.  The MRI is an instrument used to expose the internal.  Similarly, working with sculpture and voice, I believe there are fitting parallels and both can be used in a process of exposing the internal.

Galleri Fisk will be used for a singing workshop on Wednesday evening and a culminative day long performance on Saturday.

– Wednesday 5th February 2014      7 – 9pm – singing workshop – all welcome to join, sign up by email: georgia.rodger@khib.no

– Saturday 8th February 2014      12 – 8pm – durational performance
